Senior Clinician Enhanced Care - Casuarina - Full-time

About the Position

As the Senior Clinician, Enhanced Care you will engage and support young people with complex needs to access mental health support. Enhanced Care program identifies that many of these young people and their families/carers have complex lives and often face multiple barriers to engaging with services. The Enhanced Care team aims to address obstacles that young people face by providing a flexible, person-centred, therapeutic, case-coordination mental health support. The Senior Clinician, Enhanced Care will work closely with other service providers to coordinate care, identify and address barriers and challenges for young people to access appropriate service pathways and effective treatment.

In this role you will be well supported through a goal-orientated multi-disciplinary team environment and work closely with all staff across headspace Darwin clinical teams to facilitate flexible coordinated mental health support. Reporting to the Team Leader Enhanced Care, this role will provide evidence-based assessment, care planning, brief therapeutic treatment interventions, referral, consultation and advice to support young people, their families/carers and community professionals/agencies. You will uphold the values of Anglicare NT and provide quality services within the scope of the position and associated delegations.

To be successful in this role:

  • The minimum qualification required is an approved tertiary qualification and minimum 3 years' experience in a health-related discipline and registration with the relevant regulatory body such as APHRA or membership of and adherence to professional standards, such as the AASW for Social Workers.
  • Passion, energy and determination to make a difference to mental health outcomes for young people and the ability to provide person-centred support.
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently and seek guidance and support when necessary as part of a multidisciplinary team with a “can do” attitude with a positive hopeful and optimistic outlook.
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to improving the social and emotional wellbeing of young Aboriginal people.
  • Extensive experience in the planning and provision of mental health care, including completion of mental health assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation, psychoeducation and short-term treatment interventions to young people experiencing mental health and/or substance use, and/or other social difficulties using current evidence-based approaches.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
