About Us

DonateLife Victoria (DLV), under the direction of Australian Organ and Tissue Authority, works to maximise access for Australians to organ and tissue donation and transplantation through the implementation of national strategies and best practices. DLV works directly with 20 Victorian hospitals to ensure Victorians are able to fulfil their wishes to donate and that organ donation is an integral part of quality end of life care in Victoria. DLV is affiliated with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood).

About The Role

Reporting to the General Manager DonateLife Victoria (DLV) and an important member of the DLV executive strucure, you will provide leadership of the complete nursing portfolio ensuring oversight and delivery of exceptional standards of clinical care in the identification, screening, assessment and management of potential organ donors. As the Nursing Services Manager you are also responsible for the clinical oversight of the education and training program of DLV to meet Organ Tissue Authority reform initiatives.

A key function of this role is to work collaboratively across the hospital network with guidelines from the Department of Health Victoria and the federal Organ and Tissue Authority to achieve donation outcomes in the state


& Capabilities
  • Master of Health Administration or Relevant Post Graduate management qualifications with in-depth experience in leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals in a large public sector hospital
  • Proven track record in motivating, inspiring and organising staff to achieve organisational outcomes
  • Current and ongoing registration with the APHRA as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical and operational management within a complex health setting including development and implementation of operational business plans and budgeting
  • Proven ability to effectively traverse a multi stakeholder environment, developing positive relationships across multiple stakeholders in order to influence decision making for improved business effectiveness
  • Experience positively engaging with the ANMF
  • High level influencing and communication skills (verbal and written) including presenting and report writing
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, promoting and supporting risk management, continuous improvement and reporting frameworks and processes
