Pro Star Mercedes Specialist is one of Melbourne’s longest operating exclusively Mercedes Benz Service and Sales Facilities. With over 30 years of industry experience, our Hawthorn based facility is home to a state of the art service department, cutting edge diagnostic equipment, and technicians whose sole experience lies in the Mercedes Benz brand.

Due to the continued growth of our company, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Accountant (General) at Pro Star Mercedes Specialist. The role is reporting to the Director of the company, working in an established team, with day to day accounting tasks performed in a professional and efficient manner.

The Role

You are required to perform (but not limited to) the following roles:

  • Month-end reporting preparation and analysis
  • Create, review and maintain financial systems, processes and documentation that
reflect contemporary practice
  • External Factory Reporting
  • Preparing financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS
  • Daily and month-end reconciliations
  • Continuous improvement and streamlining of processes and procedures
  • Expense management and analysis
  • Providing assurance about the accuracy of the information contained in financial reports
and their compliance with the statutory requirement
  • General ledger & trial balance management
  • Examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure
  • Cashflow and banking management
  • Assist the Head of the company to prepare the annual operating and capital budget
  • Assist the Head of the company to develop financial KPIs to key budget risk areas
across the company
  • Payroll management and reporting
  • Regular liaison with the ATO, ASIC and other relevant stakeholders
As The Successful Candidate For This Role, You Will
  • Have at least 2 years relevant experience in accounting
  • Bachelor qualification (or above) in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent (essential)
  • Be accurate and have great attention to detail
  • Current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant tax legislation. Candidates without
tax experience in Australia will not be considered
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills
  • Excellent Excel skills are desirable;
  • Work efficiently with internal departments and external suppliers
  • Be organised and multi-skilled
