The Opportunity

The Engineering Services Department is seeking a motivated Student Engineer assist the assist the Traffic and Transport Unit in investigating traffic engineering, transportation parking requests and solutions that are safe and sustainable.

This Student Transport Engineer will:

  • Arrange and/or undertake site inspections to verify information;
  • Maintenance of traffic, transport planning, road safety and parking request records;
  • Provide updates to Traffic and Transport team members on the status of the projects and any issues with traffic and transport matters;
  • To contribute to the success of the Transport and Transport Unit through active teamwork; and effective performance of the responsibilities and duties of the position.

About You

To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • Undertaking an appropriate under graduate course e.g. engineering, planning, and building as well as have the ability to achieve objectives and desirable outcomes within set timeframe;
  • Skills in managing time, including setting priorities, planning and organising work to complete assigned tasks, in accordance with specified guidelines;
  • Ability to effectively achieve objectives and desired outcomes within set timeframes; and
  • Has an understanding of the regulations and practices.
