We are currently seeking a Social Impact Officer to work within our Community & Corporate Planning Department. This position will see you accountable for designing and implementing effective community programs to support the MV2040 strategic vision of a healthy city.

The opportunity

As a Social Impact Officer, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of strategies, programs and service responses using collaborative and evidence-based approaches and innovative social and community planning;
  • Undertake social research, social impact assessments, data analysis and evaluation activities to increase participation, inclusion and reduce barriers for MV2040 target populations;
  • Actively influence, provide expert advice and develop evidence-based recommendations to achieve MV2040 ‘healthy city’ outcomes particularly relating to social justice and community wellbeing.

About you

In order to be successful for this position, you will ideally encompass the following skills and attributes:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in social planning or social impact assessment, community planning, community development, social science or related field;
  • Previous experience working within a multi-skilled, high volume, customer driven environment;
  • Ability to effectively engage and consult with community as part of policy, plan and strategy development and implementation;
  • Sound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to inform social planning and evaluation; and
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement and consultation to ensure positive partnerships.
