Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Team Supervisor to Support and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Basin Construction Team functions and staff within the Works and Services Department.

About the role

This is a full-time permanent position Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm located in Woollamia- Works Depot.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.


Reporting directly to the Unit Manager- District Engineer- Basin, the focus of this position is to:

  • Support and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Basin Construction Team functions and staff.
  • Ensure processes and protocols are in place for the Basin Construction Team’s compliance with all relevant legislation, technical specification and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Certificate III qualifications in Civil Construction and Maintenance
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • National OHS Construction Card (Workcover)
  • Current NSW WorkCover Traffic Controller Certificate
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the supervision of a multi-discipline civil engineering maintenance or construction works relating to roads, drainage, kerb and gutter, cycleways, parking areas, roadside structures, wharves and jetties, boat ramps, and bridges.
  • Experience in assessing hazards and managing risk issues related to maintenance.
  • Experience in planning, programming and scheduling including the ability to lead and organise multiple crews.
