Graduate Strategic Planner

Position overview

This is a full time position, based in Bairnsdale.

The purpose of the role is to work as a graduate strategic planner as part of a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate and provide guidance for the sustainable growth of the municipality, while preserving character, heritage and considering amenity and infrastructure requirements.

What you will need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Experience in strategic planning or planning policy development in the context of State and local strategic planning objectives, along with knowledge of practices and procedures under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and related legislation and regulations.
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff, public, consultants and statutory authorities.
  • Ability to investigate, prepare and complete reports on a wide range of planning matters, timely and accurately, and make recommendations to management and Council.
  • Commitment to high quality customer serve and experience.
  • Relevant information technology knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and participate in a team environment.
  • A current, valid Victorian driver’s licence.
