At the Brisbane Pharma Services Group (PSG) Biologics site, we are a contract manufacturing organization (CMO) specialising in the production of biopharmaceuticals from mammalian cell culture. We supply manufacturing services including limited process development and contract “good manufacturing practice” (cGMP) grade drug substance to customers around the globe. These state-of-the-art medicines help cure cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, wet amacular degeneration and other chronic and acute diseases.

How will you make an impact?

As the Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas within the production facility in accordance to the site policy and procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for the Media and Buffer storage area, replenishment of KANBAN items in the production area, wasting of solutions and cleaning of facility equipment as directed by the Facility Co-Ordinator.

What will you do?

  • Organise the Controlled Not Classified (CNC) corridor in the Production Facility e.g. rearrange the 1000L liquid filled totes using manual, automated pallet-jacks, drum trucks and walkie stackers.
  • Waste solutions as required by Operations
  • Ensure adequate supplies of cleanroom gowns (scrubs, smocks and coveralls) are in circulation to meet production needs
  • Ensure laundry is sent off as per schedule to meet production needs
  • Ensure adequate cleaning supplies (e.g. mop heads) are in circulation to meet cleaning schedule/demand.
  • Maintain the change room in a neat and tidy condition.
  • Ensure prompt transition of raw material and consumables from warehouse deliveries into the Facility
  • Clean, disinfect and restock raw materials, equipment and Kanban items upon entry into Level 4
  • Ensure that the Level 4 staging area is uncongested.
  • Escort visitors to facility (e.g. contractors, maintenance personnel) ensuring correct gowning and routing procedures are followed
  • Escort and supervise cleaners/cleaning activities within the Facility as required by the Facility Co-ordinator.
  • Clean sensitive Facility equipment when required as per cleaning schedule
  • Organise removal of large waste items e.g. IBCs from the production area.
  • Ensuring the facility is ready for audit at any time (i.e. in a neat and tidy condition).
  • Responding to and cleaning up chemical and biological spills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned i.e.; work orders, contractor escorting, filter integrity testing
  • Adhere to Thermo Fisher Scientific Quality Management System and EH&S requirements
  • Any reasonable additional tasks that might be required for day to day Operational activities
How will you get here?

  • Prior experience of working within a highly regulated cGMP cleanroom environment
  • Understanding of GMP principals
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Good communication, flexibility and reliability
  • Responsible and proactive
  • Able to work in a physical role with manual handling aspects
  • EWP (working at height) license preferred but not essential
