Flinders University is seeking an Associate Director, Strategic Planning and Sustainability. This role will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of specialists across sustainability, campus strategic planning and property to ensure the needs of the university are met now and into the future.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing effective leadership, coordination and management of a high-performing team of specialists across sustainability, campus strategic planning and property.
  • Coordinating, leading and implementing the Flinders sustainability strategy, including the delivery of effective and innovative physical sustainability outcomes, while embedding an industry best practice approach to sustainability within the division and across the organisation.
  • Collaboratively developing and implementing a suite of masterplans, strategies, plans and guidelines which will guide the University’s investment in physical infrastructure, facilities and spaces now and into the future.
  • Pro-actively and efficiently managing the University’s leased portfolio, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and the University is positioned to manage all of its agreements and obligations.

Extensive knowledge and experience in sustainability strategy and implementation, facilities strategy and planning and infrastructure management in a complex university scale asset environment is required, as well as tertiary qualifications with relevant post qualification experience. The successful candidate will have extensive experience and will have led a diverse organisational unit, including the effective management of human, financial, and physical resources in a results-orientated environment. Applicants will have demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills, and proven experience in developing and maintaining positive and effective stakeholder relationships.
