iDareDream: Supporting Grandcarers, Empowering Grandchildren
The role of the Secretary is primarily administrative ensuring appropriate administrative support is provided to the chairperson and governing committee.
Location: Balcatta when in person, and virtually via Zoom

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed person with secretarial and administrative skills to join our dedicated and welcoming team volunteering our time and expertise to grow a young charity supporting both the grandparents and grandchildren they are unexpectedly raising.
iDareDream was formed in July 2018 with the mission to facilitate opportunities for the grandchildren to participate in extra-curricular activities and programs fostering self-worth, confidence and the life skills essential for making healthy life choices.

Role Description
The Charity Secretary's role involves:
⚫Checking a quorum is present at committee meetings.
⚫Minuting meetings and circulating the draft minutes to all committee members.
⚫Checking committee members and volunteers have carried out action(s) as agreed.
⚫Ensuring up-to-date records are kept of all voting members.
⚫Ensuring elections are in line with the Constitution stipulations.
⚫Receiving and recording new Grandparent Family memberships and maintaining accurate membership records.
⚫Ensuring iDareDream complies with the requirements of ASIC and the ACNC in terms of registration, reporting, changes to governing documents and Authorised Responsible Persons and their addresses. etc.

Qualities and Skills Required
•Organisational ability.
•Experience of committee work and procedures.
•Minute-taking experience.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Digital proficiency.

• Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences.
•Are approachable and sensitive to the feelings of others.
•General computer skills.

Commitment
• Preferably minimum two-years term.
• Approximately 1-2 hours a week.
Committee meetings held on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7:30pm by zoom or in person.
You will need your own laptop/computer and be willing to attend and assist our fundraising events.
