JOB DESCRIPTION

2021 will be the most exciting year yet for the Marketing and Digital team at McMillan Shakespeare as we help customers make more confident choices in and out of the workplace. We are now looking for a talented Product Owner to manage and deliver new products to ensure MMSG remains a market leader.


Reporting to the Head of Product you will be responsible for managing the full product lifecycle of solutions delivered within our Plan Partners business. Plan Partners has grown rapidly to become Australia’s leading expert in NDIS plan management and support coordination, supporting thousands of people with a disability and their carers across Australia.


An exciting opportunity exists to lead the product management of innovative new solutions that delight and inspire our customers. Working closely with internal stakeholders, technical teams and external agencies as required, you will be taking ownership for their delivery and commercial success.


A problem solver you will bring a strong commercial lens and a highly customer centric outlook.

With a relevant qualification in business, design or technology you will have a background in product management gained in financial services, disabilities or technology sectors. You will have a demonstrable track record of managing teams to achieve product deliverables in an agile project environment.


As the Product Owner your Key responsibilities will include:


  • Live and breathe the product, showcasing new features that are delivered to the business.
  • Operating as a relentless customer advocate with a focus on delivering world class customer experiences.
  • Deliver rationale for new initiatives and product features with a focus on customer value and strategic fit.
  • Own and manage product backlog, balancing business and customer needs.
  • Work closely with data and analytics, digital marketing and CX team to understand customer behaviours using data to inform decisions and product development.
  • Actively participate in product discovery activities and coordinate internal subject matter experts.
  • Create, prioritise and maintain the team backlog, defining release and sprint goals and answering questions to add detail to user stories.
  • Team leadership, providing guidance and advice and ensuring consistency in methodology, practices and approach.
  • Analyse and refine business requirements and concepts into features and user stories.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and the internal and offshore contract workforce, to define and create engaging and delightful customer experiences.


To be considered for our role you will display the following skills and behaviours:


  • Obsessive about customers, with a passion for supporting Australians with a disability and their carers
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with all business stakeholders and agencies.
  • Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade
  • Unwavering attention to detail and meticulous organisational skills.
  • 2+ yrs experience working in an Agile delivery environment as a Product Owner, or Product Manager.
  • Proven track record in taking new digital products to market.
  • Experience building and launching high quality consumer applications.
  • Cross-functional experience working with and across other disciplines (for example UX, Design, Tech/Architecture, QA and Delivery).
