As a leader within the Community Strengthening Directorate, the Manager of Community Activation will lead a diverse team to deliver on the Council's arts & culture, tourism, economic and cultural development strategies. You will play an integral role in leading strategic and operational planning and oversight of initiatives, programs and services that provide for activation across the community through a holistic approach across these functions. Representing the Council and community this role will engage with stakeholders across industry, local business and other partners to drive tourism and growth for the Mornington Peninsula municipality. Additionally you will develop and implement economic development programs and policies designed to attract and retain investment to sustain and grow local businesses and employment opportunities. You will lead ongoing continuous improvement reviews of portfolio services to ensure effective, efficient and aligned services to the community needs. As a member of the Corporate Leadership Group, this role will also provide feedback and input into broader organisational-wide issues and initiatives.

Key to your success in this role will be your exceptional stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with proven experience across arts & culture, tourism or local government industries. You present with strong existing networks across the arts and tourism industries, and an ability to effectively engage with a range of external stakeholders to collaborative and deliver on impactful projects and initiatives. You can demonstrate a track record in creating, developing and leading high performing teams, and delivering tangible results to the community. Experience across economic development would also be favourable. With relevant tertiary qualifications and proven experience, you will play a key role in ensuring the Council can deliver exceptional outcomes for the community and drive sustainable economic development for the future.
