Located on the beautiful Great South Coast, South West Healthcare offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and psychiatric services. The organisation serves a catchment in excess of 110,000 and comprises of a total of 282 beds and an extensive range of primary and community services. South West Healthcare's (SWH) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) works predominately in Warrnambool, Victoria and is a specialised and highly proficient team. We're seeking applications from committed and dynamic mental health professionals to join the team and provide experience, growth and development.

About the role

Positions provide an opportunity for health professionals to work in a multidisciplinary team providing discipline specifics expertise in crisis assessment, short and long term case management and a range of interventions for children, young people and their families including but not limited to: eating disorders, autism, early intervention and infant mental health. Service provision is recovery oriented and trauma informed care utilising natural and existing community supports as required in the South West region.

Clinician work with using systematic mechanisms that ensure regular communication and the flow of information with other clinical staff and professionals, families, and stakeholder groups located both internally and externally to South West Healthcare.

What you bring

As an experienced Occupational Therapist you will have a sound appreciation of evidence-based contemporary child, adolescent and family mental health practices. Experience in triage, comprehensive assessment, psychological interventions or related activities is desirable for the position.

The role requires sound knowledge of: child and adolescent mental health presentations and interventions; relevant mental health and child, youth and family legislation; and a working knowledge of Recovery Oriented practice and Trauma Informed Care.

The successful applicant/s must have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to demonstrate good judgement, work planning, decision-making abilities and organisational skills.
