We are looking for a Building Assessor (BSU) to undertake evaluations of applications made by Building Surveyors and Building Inspectors who are looking to become registered.

The Knowledge and Experience team is responsible for assessing the knowledge and experience of applicants seeking to become registered or licenced with the VBA.

In this role, you will be undertaking knowledge and experience assessments, including face to face interviews, and providing sound recommendations on suitability for Building Surveyor, and Building Inspector practitioners applying for registration. You will partake in the continuous improvement of the assessment framework, and its processes and tools. At times you will be required to use your knowledge of the regulations and industry to act in an advisory role.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience in the conduct, monitoring and evaluation of assessment practices, either in the education sector or industry.
  • Good conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions and assessments, based on fact 
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people, prepare detailed and accurate reports and recommendations on assessments
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Building Surveyor (Unlimited)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is required for the role, with training provided if not already held
