About us

The South East Metropolitan Region delivers a range of Justice Services including; community corrections services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs and front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications). 

Also located within the region is the Working with Children Check Unit, a statewide service providing community education and issuing of Working with Children Check Cards.

There are two Executive Officer roles of the Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee, East and South.

About the role

As the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • providing key support, secretariat services and advice to the RAJAC including the preparation of meeting papers, agenda, venue, catering and minute taking
  • maintaining regular contact with the Chairperson East Metropolitan RAJAC to uphold the partnership and implementation of AJA4
  • attending, participating and supporting the East Metropolitan RAJAC Chairperson's participation in AJA related activities including the Aboriginal Justice Forum, Koori Caucus and Koori Reference Groups
  • actively promoting the Aboriginal Justice Agreement and Community Grants Programs in the region.

The position is also a key member of the South East Metropolitan Region Executive Leadership Team that has overall responsibility for the management and direction of regional operations.

About you

As the Executive Officer, you will possess:

  • demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Koori community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it
  • demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with the Koori community
  • experience in managing the development and implementation of stakeholder initiatives
  • experience in developing and managing key projects.

Keys to your success will be your highly developed communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills, including the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
