JOB DESCRIPTION

The role

Challenge Community Services is currently looking for a dynamic full-time Permanency Support Program Advisor to join our Foster Care Team in Maitland on a Fixed Term Maternity Locum contract for a 10 month period. 

The PSP Advisor will be responsible for the daily management of a range of tasks associated with compliance. These include providing high level advice to the State Manager regarding Disclosable Outcomes, Carer Authorisation and Reportable Conduct. This position is also responsible for ensuring legislative reporting timeframes are adhered to in relation to all Reportable Conduct matters. In addition, you will be involved in specific projects including the review of our policies and procedures and providing support to prepare for re-accreditation.

About you

We are looking for someone who pays particular attention to detail and understands the importance of organisational risk. You will need an in-depth knowledge of the legislation, regulations and an ability to transform this knowledge into policies and procedures that support outcomes. You will also have a flair for managing multiple projects and facilitating consultation and collaboration processes.

You are able to represent the vision, strategic direction and values of Challenge Community Services in all aspects of your work.

This role is suited to an individual who has the following experience and attributes:

  • Committed to improving the quality of life for children and young people in out of home care.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Experience working in OOHC.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent qualifications and demonstrated experience in Permanency Support Programs (PSP) including reportable conduct and carer compliance
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high level of organisation skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of legislation and compliance requirements of OOHC agencies within NSW, including an understanding of regulatory bodies such as the Office of the Children's Guardian
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/ communication skills, including verbal, written and negotiations skills with staff, carers and external stakeholders
  • Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically, meet deadlines and produce quality work under pressure
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Office Suite of products
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Office Suite of products
  • Unencumbered driver’s licence and willingness to travel as needed to other offices across the state
  • Satisfactory criminal record check and Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check and or the willingness to get one if successful.

 Desirable Criteria

  • PSP Compliance knowledge or experience
  • Personal Assistant experience
