Contract (3-5 years)

Full-time (average of 38 hours per week)

Responsible for conducting investigative and general auditing duties, you will mitigate risks to the City relating to financial and reputational loss as a result of misconduct, fraud or other misdemeanours by monitoring organisational performance relating to systems, risk management and statutory compliance.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will also be the principal advisor to the Audit Committee. Supported by an Internal Audit Assistant, you will maintain and improve the internal audit framework across our organisation of 600+ employees and annual operating revenue of over $140 million.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in commerce and/or finance, and eligibility for membership to the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA Australia).

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria in your application; failure to do so will render your application invalid and it will not be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of public sector internal audit functions and experience in accounting or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of all relevant standards and Codes of Ethics prescribed by the IIA and CPA Australia.

We are offering a salary of $131,000 per annum, and:

  • A motor vehicle allowance of $19,285 per annum
  • Up to 14.5% superannuation

  • Flexible working arrangements, including rostered days off and two additional paid days of absence per annum
