The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Couple Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) Laboratory team as an Industrial Chemistry Analyst based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this essential role, you will be responsible for collecting and completing sample preparation and testing of process control samples. You will contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service by completing analyses and providing high quality samples and results.

This is a part-time fixed term role (2x8 hour days per week).

What Will You Do?

In This Analytical Role You Will

  • ensure sampling is of high quality to ensure accuracy of results
  • conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment required for sampling, sample preparation and analysis and take any necessary corrective actions
  • prepare solutions and standards required for both sampling and chemical analysis
  • proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline our procedures or testing
More About You

As a results driven, organised Chemistry Analyst, you will bring:
  • demonstrated proficiency in the use of data reviewing software and equipment
  • a level sense of urgency when prioritising tasks to meet production requirements
  • good problem-solving skills
  • a high level of attention to detail
  • you will possess/in the process of obtaining tertiary qualifications in Science/Chemistry or have relevant industrial laboratory experience
This role will see you at times working outdoors and at heights. It is essential that you are comfortable with this.
