JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking a Head Brewer for their high-end gastro pub operating in Adelaide.

About the Role

Working in the heart of the city our client is expanding their team in search of a senior brewer. Within this role you will be responsible for the day to day operations on the brewery floor. This includes ensuring that the production schedule is being met with the utmost attention to safety, quality, and cleanliness.

Whilst being primarily responsible for brew house, lab, cellar, and operations you will have the opportunity to provide training and assisting junior brewers with their development. You will be greatly assisted by the Head Brewer, who will have an active role on the brewery floor.

You will be responsible for the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Brew house operations (wort production)
  • Cellar operations
  • Packaging operations (kegging and canning)
  • Lab operations
  • Stock management and rotation
  • Quality assurance checks and analysis
  • Recipe development and creation
  • Mentoring junior brewers
  • Recording and documenting brewing data
  • Representing Hawke’s at events and functions

About You

A successful candidate will bring with them a passion for making great quality beer, while being energised by working with a team that prides itself on collaboration and hard work.

In order to be successful, you should have the following experience and skills:

  • General Certificate in brewing or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a production brewer role and packaging operations
  • Forklift licence
  • Knowledge of OH&S processes
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationships
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Problem-solving skills
