Role: Team Lead, Global Awareness and Policy Integration (GAPI) (until 31 December 2021)

Position Summary:

Manage and coordinate deliverables relevant to the Global Awareness and Policy Integration (GAPI) mandate as part of the department's response to COVID-19.

Review, analyse and synthesise COVID-19 evidence from Victorian, interstate and global sources to prepare, compile, update and distribute rapid evidence reviews.

Actively build connections, improve communications and engage with relevant teams and stakeholders to understand the high-level policy questions of interest, and where epidemiological outputs produced by the team can be best-positioned to support.


  • Assist in the coordination of, and response to, incoming requests for GAPI outputs (regular and ad hoc).
  • Coordinate and develop ongoing deliverables and in-scope projects across GAPI to meet team objectives.
  • Play an active role in supporting GAPI to manage stakeholder relationships and enhance collaboration, clear communication and strategic alignment both within and across teams.
  • Engage with relevant teams and stakeholders to maintain awareness of high-level topics of interest for the Department.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records (TRIM, Excel, Teams) of all GAPI outputs.
  • Report on and monitor GAPI progress and the outcomes achieved as a result of GAPI outputs.
  • Provide supervision and support to team members.
  • Communicate policy and evidence review products and advice to functional leads as required.
  • Provide quality assurance on evidence reviews and related documentsto ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements to evidence synthesis, policy integration and reporting systems.
