Position Summary:
Reporting to the Policy & Liaison Lead, this role will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team developing COVID-19 pathology and testing policy and strategy. This position is responsible for supporting the development of public policy and key strategic projects to strengthen COVID-19 pathology and testing strategy and systems. The position will also support strategic communications for the COVID-19 Pathology and Reform area, including brief writing, formal correspondence, and strategic reporting requirements of the area.

Responsibilities:

  • Build constructive relationships within COVID19 Engagement and Delivery, Public Health and across government to develop coordinated approaches to policy, strategy and communications.Support strategic projects that work with other parts of the response to strengthen the pathology and testing system and strategy.
  • Undertake all project activities in accordance with departmental processes and identify problems and risks that arise in project implementation.
  • Utilise sound judgment when monitoring and overseeing the delivery of projects to escalate critical risks where required.
  • Identify, resolve/mitigate, monitor and escalate risks and issues as required.
  • Develop detailed options analysis to support policy and strategy developments.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of key pathology and testing strategies, and includes some data analysis and interpretation
  • Contribute to policy papers, guidelines, testing protocols related to Pathology and COVID-19 testing.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with department's requirements.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures
