JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Waverley Internation Hotel is looking to hire a part-time cook.

You will be responsible to prepare a simple morning buffet and some a la carte food menu by yourself in the kitchen, hence, we prefer someone who has experience in this industry and who are confident to work on their own.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Important and essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Preparing and cooking a la carte food items

-Preparing and cooking function and catering requirements

-Maintaining the breakfast buffet

-Ordering stock for the kitchen if required

-Maintaining and keeping a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen

-Carrying out any reasonable duties to assist in the smooth running of the hotel as and when required

-Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Supervisor and Management

-Attend shift briefings when and where required

-Maintain confidentiality on the hotel’s business affairs at all times

-Adhere to the weekly staff rosters ensuring punctuality

-Adhere to the staff guidelines as per the hotel’s staff policy

-Actively participates in training related to skills/acknowledged for the role

-Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently

- Monitor food safety/cleaning practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations

- Control and maintaining all food cost up to the company standard

- Report to Executive chef and Restaurant manager weekly food cost %

- Weekly meeting with the restaurant manager to discuss all food costing and profit and loss figures when the P/L report available

- Weekly meeting with the executive chef to discuss action plan when any issue appears in the P/L report

- Working with the executive chef to monitor, evaluate and modify the quality and consistency of service and product delivery to continuously meet and improve service standards, ensure alignment with overall strategic and operating plans for the business
