St Jude’s Parish Scoresby is seeking to appoint a Parish Finance Officer to oversee all financial aspects of the Parish Office. This role is permanent part time and is required for 6 hours per week.

The successful candidate will need to have significant experience as a Finance Officer, has been part of a team structure and is able to be a self-starter with a welcoming and energetic approach to engaging with all.

In this role, you will be responsible for key areas such as (but not limited to):

  • Paying and remitting all bills and posting invoices
  • Raising invoices and following up any overdue balances
  • End to end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Data entry of all transactions on MYOB
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Preparing quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Preparing reports/budgets for Finance Committee and attending Finance committee meetings as required.
  • Return on all House account transactions
  • Managing the payroll payments and payroll record keeping
  • Preparing the Annual Payment Summaries
  • Payment to the Priest Remuneration Fund and Catholic levies
  • Maintaining and administering PAC’s system
  • Maintaining and administering the Parish Thanksgiving/Stewardship Program
  • Any other financial/payroll related task as directed by the Parish Priest/Parish Accountant
  • Assisting the Parish Coordinator as required
  • Other tasks as directed by the Parish Priest

To be successful in this role you will need to have a confident working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Along with working knowledge of MYOB. Familiarity with the Software package “Parish On Line” is desirable.
