Current opportunity

We are currently seeking a Risk Administrator, in our central risk team, responsible for the administrative tasks associated with the implementation of processes and monitoring of compliance, with legislative requirements embedded within the BDO Australia independence policies and procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Administer the daily local and global Conflict and Independence (CIC) checks. Check the quality of data, follow up missing and/or incorrect information, review and approve CIC checks
  • Facilitate the resolution of conflicts and queries relating to Independence checks
  • Provide assistance with client reacceptance processes - conduct register searches, liaise with the engagement team, facilitate the resolution of queries and update registers
  • Facilitate the consideration of all register entries and exceptions raised through the independence declaration process in accordance with the BDO Australia independence policies and procedures
  • Facilitate the resolution of all exceptions raised on any service line engagement independence declaration.
  • Be the first point of contact for partners and staff in relation to all Independence policies and procedures.
  • Maintain of the suite of Firm registers including; Directors, Financial Interests, Gifts and Hospitality, Litigation, Loans, Purchases, Consultants, Rotation, Prohibited Investment and Sundry registers.
  • Administer processes relating to identifying, recording and reporting on non-assurance services provided to assurance clients.
  • General administrative duties including copying, filing, printing, archiving, scanning, reporting and letter/email writing.
  • Assist with conducting Independence testing of information collated from the annual independence declaration.


What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including advanced level Word and Excel
  • Has a ‘can do’, enthusiastic and positive attitude. Shows drive and determination to deliver on key deliverables, and is self-motivated
  • Acts with honesty and integrity (Emphasis on confidential information)
  • Adopts a professional and approach and is comfortable dealing with executive and senior stakeholders
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Is committed to working cooperatively and collaboratively and as a team member to attain goals
  • Self led – with strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
  • Actively listens and accurately follows instructions, policies and procedures: knows when to probe and ask further questions
  • Office experience working with a range of stakeholders is advantageous
