icare is currently seeking a Planning and Insights Support Officer with a commercial mindset and a passion for social impact to join the icare team!

  • Join an Internal Audit team for one of Australia’s largest insurance providers!
  • Part-time | 3-day work week | on a 12-month fixed term contract
  • Salary from $97,443 pro-rata + superannuation

We’re looking for someone to support the operational aspects of Internal Audit (IA) to ensure the team remains effective and well-coordinated. This will include assisting with the annual audit planning process, tracking internal audit progress within IA, tracking and following up on management actions arising from audits across the business, preparing reporting for the Group Executive Team (GET) and the Board’s Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), providing system/administrative support to the team to enable quality delivery of internal audit engagements, and driving “combined assurance” across icare’s 3 Lines.

You’ll be working with a diverse mix of ambitious people who really care about making a difference for people and the NSW community. You’ll need a mind for getting things done, the ability to work autonomously at a fast pace, drive and initiative, and will be able to bring new ideas to the table. You’ll set the bar high through the quality of the work you do and the people-oriented decisions you make.

You’ll bring your experience in making decisions within the level of financial and administrative delegation assigned to the role and within corporate / government / legislative protocols and ensuring decisions are based on evidence, but when necessary, make judgments in consultation with manager.

It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same. But on a typical day you might find yourself needing to:

  • Assist with designing and coordinating annual internal audit planning processes to ensure effective consultation takes place across the business and that relevant engagements are added to the annual audit plan.
  • Generate audit progress reporting by liaising closely with IA Engagement Leads.
  • Track and follow up on management actions arising from internal audit engagements, internal and external, across the business.
  • Prepare regular reporting for the GET and ARC to keep them informed of the progress and risk ratings of management actions and any other key audit developments.
  • Provide administrative support with IA’s audit management system (software program for managing audit engagements) and generate performance reports and dashboards.
  • Support quarterly planning activities for the team, including assisting with developing IA goals/vision/strategy, identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the IA Centres of Excellence.
  • Support the development of combined assurance across icare’s 3 Lines in order to capture a view of all assurance activity and move toward integrated assurance planning and reporting.
  • Manage ad hoc tasks as they arise and escalate challenges to the Head of Internal Audit Planning and Insights.
