We are looking for a Logistics and Inventory Officer who will be responsible for coordinating and managing all logistics activities, including daily liaison with suppliers and freight forwarders, inbound and outbound warehouse movements as well as maintaining stock levels. This role will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with our freight forwarder to oversee all production movements and deliveries within a timely matter
  • Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents - gather and maintain all data records relative to shipping activities
  • Daily monitoring of container movements to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
  • Implement offloading processes and inspection checks on incoming containers from suppliers to ensure accurate stock received
  • Plan and maintain inbound and outbound deliveries at all locations
  • Working closely with the Production Planner to ensure shipping schedules are achieved
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
  • Maintain daily inventory reports of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency for management
  • Work closely with the production planning team regarding operations, planning, adjustment and the coordination of changes to logistics activities
  • Liaise with warehouse management to ensure that outgoing merchandise is packed correctly, efficiently and cost effectively.

It’s all about … you!

  • Tertiary qualifications in logistics/inventory management or related field will be highly regarded
  • 3+ years experience within the logistics industry dealing with freight forwarders, 3PLs and inventory management functions
  • Strong excel skills and experience with using ERP systems
  • FMCG experience highly advantageous
  • Sound understanding of logistics, inventory management, and stock management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high level problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible working style, dealing with constant change in a busy environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines, adapt and prioritise
  • Be self-motivated whilst being a team player
