JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking an apprentice fitter/machinist.

The applicant must be mechanically minded with a strong interest in engineering.

Roles would include:

  • Operating manual lathe & mill
  • Making & replacing hydraulic hoses
  • Repairing hydraulic pumps, motors, valves & cylinders.
  • Serving customers
  • Fault diagnosing
  • Trouble shooting & repairs to a range of mechanical equipment.
  • Work with precision tools
  • Keeping workshop clean & tidy
  • Replacing stock

Selection criteria:

  • Completion of year 10 at a minimum
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in a metal trade.
  • Completion of cert II in engineering would be an advantage.
  • Neat & tidy personal presentation
  • Good communications skills & able to follow directions.
  • A good understanding of maths & English
  • Adhere to OH&S standards

Over a 4-year period, you will complete an apprenticeship and obtain a Cert III in Engineering -Mechanical Trade completing the pathway to become a Machinist – Fitter / Turner.
