Victoria Police have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Coordinator to work as part of a specialised team within the Strategic IT Contracts Unit of Business Services Division, Information Technology and Infrastructure Services Portfolio (ITIS).

Business Services Division is accountable for the consolidation and maturation of governance, management and business support functions that are undertaken across the ITIS Portfolio. Strategic IT Contracts has the primary function of commercial and contract management of a majority of IT contracts for Victoria Police.

The role is accountable for coordinating the timely purchase of authorised IT hardware in accordance with Victorian Government and Victoria Police policies and procedures.

Your duties will include:

  • Provision of a consultancy service to management and key stakeholders in relation to IT hardware purchasing policy & procedures.
  • Coordination of the purchase of IT hardware within the organisation.
  • Sourcing quotes for ad hoc IT hardware requests.
  • Leveraging applicable Whole of Victorian Government State Purchase Contracts.
  • Assist with completion of purchase approval processes to support high value IT hardware purchases.
  • Participation in the selection of IT hardware for inclusion in the Victoria Police IT catalogue.
  • Coordinate the update of the IT catalogue as and when IT hardware model & or costs change.
  • Participation in the management of hardware warranty information.
  • Assisting in the processing of ‘out of warranty' hardware repair requests.
  • Purchasing software licences in response to IT Service Requests in accordance with Victoria Police and Victorian Government procurement policy and procedures.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of the Victoria Police software licence register.
  • Assisting with the authorised distribution of software media.
  • Actioning invoices resulting from IT hardware and software licence purchases.
  • Completing cost recovery activities.
  • Contract administration support as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Have highly developed interpersonal and negotiating skills with the ability to develop professional and diplomatic relationships with external organisations and service providers;
  • A proven ability to work successfully and effectively, either independently or in a team environment;
  • Have well developed presentation skills, verbal and written communications with an analytical, conceptual approach.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time, fixed term 12 month position available
  • Position located at the Victoria Police Centre. 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
