JOB DESCRIPTION

Naval Group Australia (NGA) is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced export control professional to join the Attack Class Submarine Program, the largest and most ambitious defence acquisition program Australia has ever undertaken. Professional challenges don’t come any bigger than this!

An autonomous role, you will report to the Export Control Manager and be part of a cohesive team of export control subject matter experts providing advice and guidance on complex business matters relating to export control. You will be instrumental in ensuring Naval Group Australia’s compliance with all export control policies and procedures and with the relevant export control laws and regulations that apply to the Future Submarine Program.

More specifically, you will:

  • Apply expert-level knowledge to guide the business when submitting applications for Australian export licenses and permits
  • Manage all export licenses and permit application processes both domestic and international
  • Coach internal stakeholders to ensure all company activities comply with Australian, French and US requirements of applicable export legislation and regulations
  • Contribute to the further development of the company Export Control Framework.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Solid experience working in export/import control or a related field, plus a relevant tertiary-level qualification
  • Working knowledge of Australian, US and European export control regulations
  • High focus on detail in a busy and changing environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • A collaborative and cooperative approach working with others
  • Familiarity with French export legislation is desirable

Eligibility Criteria:

Must be eligible to attain an NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance. (Please visit the ASGVA website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/factsheets-forms.asp for further information relating to obtaining and maintaining a security clearance).

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is applicable and as such your nationality may be a factor in establishing your suitability for this role.
