Exciting opportunity for an experienced Operational Technology Security Specialist to join ASG on a long-term contract. You will be working with our tier-1 customer in Perth’s CBD.

The purpose of the Operational Technology Specialist role is to strengthen OT capabilities by utilising industry best practices to assess Operational and Security risks & technology gaps and design solutions that mitigate risk. The role will require an in depth specialist knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and inner workings of generation engineering that can assess various Operational Technology environments, design suitable processes and technology solutions and plan the implementation of the required programs of work which are aligned to Corporate & Cyber Security Strategies.

This is a long-term contract of 12 months plus.


  • Design, enterprise class security systems for Operational Technology environments
  • Align Operational Technology security design to the Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework (AESCSF) & Australian Signal Directorate Essential 8 (ASD8)
  • Maintain and update cyber threat landscape for OT environments on a regular basis including staying up to date about the latest security threat environment and related technology developments.
  • Ensure appropriate security controls are in place across all OT Systems.
  • Identify security design gaps/risks in existing and proposed architecture, recommending changes or enhancements.
  • Mitigate Operational Technology security & operating risk by developing and governing a planned program of work targeted at keeping the Operational Technology environment current.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and the broader technology community in the context of Cyber Security& Operational Technology



  • 5 + years of ICS/SCADA experience with a broad range of exposure to various business segments and technical environments.
  • Proven track record developing security architecture within IT environments.


  • Previous experience designing, developing and implementing security capabilities within ICS/SCADA environments.
  • Asset Frameworks
  • Proven track record developing security capability within ICS/SCADA environments. Knowledge of security controls and technologies
  • Knowledge of C2M2, ISO27001, NIST CSF, PCI-DSS, IRAP, SOC1 / 2, SP 800-53 and other associated standards and protocols.
