The Role.

Whilst we are a niche consultancy (in the context of retail and technology), our service offerings are wide. In this role, you could find yourself leading and consulting on a strategy engagement building an omni-channel strategy from the ground up. You could find yourself partnering with other it works consultants to deliver a large multi-million dollar business transformation project such as the implementation of an ERP, POS, ecommerce or other enabling solution. You could even find yourself in an operational role “trading” a retailer’s website. Or you could find yourself partnering with a retailer to help them craft business cases, put together financial forecasts, asses a business’s internal people capability, or even design loyalty programs! As you can see, no engagement is the same. The one thing we all have in common at it works is our passion for retail and “making retail better”. (By the way, that’s our catch cry!)

Needless to say, a role of this nature demands superior communication and stakeholder management skills, a “value add” approach to everything you do, and an “comfortability” with being the lone voice in the room, meaning that you know when the time is right to challenge those around you. Your role is to successfully navigate and manage a broad range of stakeholders, from junior team to the C-Suite, and manage expectations across your client’s organisation knowing that the ultimate aim is the delivery of a successful project no matter what its size or shape. With a flair for corralling and motivating teams to drive successful outcomes, you will also act as a leader both within your client’s business and internally at it works and will contribute to the continuous improvement of best practice delivery methods.

The ideal consultant will have experience delivering a variety of business-critical projects of varying complexity and under tight deadlines whilst maintaining compliance with internal frameworks and producing quality outcomes for your clients, all whilst keeping risk management and mitigation at top of mind.

The ideal candidate will ………

· Be a team player with a passion for retail transformation and technology!

· Have experience in a retail setting. This could be in ecommerce, technology, finance, buying or merchandise planning just to name a few! The common theme here is that you understand and can appreciate the nuances of a retail environment.

· Demonstrated experience in managing disparate teams in a variety of environments, in a project setting.

· Demonstrated experience in successfully planning and delivering projects of varying complexity.

· Demonstrated ability in managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

· Demonstrated ability in leading project delivery with a focus on time, cost, quality and scope.

· Demonstrated experience in leading the development of solutions with a focus on business enablement and outcomes.

· Proven ability and experience in corporate and project procurement processes such as tendering.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication styles to accommodate different audiences using a variety of mediums.

· Ability to filter through the detail and prioritise actions accordingly.
