In response to COVID-19, CSIRO set up a cross-functional team, the Business Transition Program (BTP), to provide central coordination and oversight of the organisation’s business response and recovery. Building on the positive return of the BTP, CSIRO is now setting up a new function within the Strategy team, the Program Enablement Office (PEO), to provide central coordination and oversight of strategically important cross-organisational initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Performance and Evaluation, you will facilitate identification of issues, roadblocks, opportunities and solutions to address quickly to enable performance.

Your duties will include:

  • Work closely with individual initiative owners to drive monitoring and reporting to provide transparency and quality assurance, which will drive accountability for delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Use performance expertise to lead the monitoring and reporting work, from a holistic and co-ordinated approach, with independence of action and achieving results through the use of available resources, within constraints laid down by managers.
  • Influence the decision of initiative owners by recognising the need for change in quality solutions/proposals, and build capability that develops better practices, resulting in improved performance reporting against organisation’s objectives.
  • Manage and deliver high quality reports, briefs and presentations, as well respond to all other information requests. Maintain accurate records, safeguarding the confidentiality of information.
  • Manage the liaison process with clients to anticipate their needs, ensure the relevance of the activity and achievement of team objectives, take personal responsibility for guaranteeing client satisfaction, and correct problems promptly and in a constructive manner.

Location: Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane preferred

Salary: AU$100k – AU$108k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  1. Diploma/bachelor’s degree, in relevant disciplines (e.g. business, accounting, human resources, public administration or economics), or relevant work experience in a similar role.
  2. At least 3-5 years direct skills and experience in designing and conducting monitoring and evaluations plans and frameworks, as well as performance analysis and reporting. Strong data analytics experience and skills with both quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting.
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in computer programs such as statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint in particular) and the ability to prepare summaries including tables, graphs and charts.
  4. Demonstrated experience building strategic relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders, using influence, coaching and mentoring skills to build the capacity for effective program planning.
  5. The ability to synthesise and produce high quality written materials in a timely manner as well as strong presentation and facilitation skills.
