Part time Health and safety Officer , Facilities and Property business

Your new company
Client is a multi-disciplinary property business. They own, manage and maintain a retail property portfolio as well as acquiring, developing and building new assets. They are looking to recruit a head office based health and Safety officer to take care of the H&S function for the business

Your new role
The role is essentially responsible for all health and safety matters for the business. This would include:-

  • Responsible for conducting regular WHS Audits on redevelopment sites as well as the premises owned by business,
  • Coaching to facilities management staff to help improve their safety culture
  • Create, review and implement WHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with WHS regulations
  • Management and analysis of incidents to understand the root causes and ensuring correct implementation of corrective actions derived from these incidents.
  • Perform regular inductions for new starters both on the construction site and in the facilities management offices.
  • In charge of providing technical advice and support to our management team including, construction staff and head office executives.
  • Chair the quarterly WHS committee meetings attended by the directors, executives and other relevant staff.

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would need tertiary qualifications plus experience of working in a varied health and safety role Ideally one that has combination of head office and some experience of working within construction, hard services or maintenance industry. Candidates would need to be technically proficient in the role to provide sensible guidance and have strong stakeholder engagement skills to drive the health and safety culture for off site teams
The role is not hugely senior and has process and administrative element, so candidates would need to be happy delivering work themselves as opposed to seeking to manage others. The role is based in Brisbane CBD, but some travel so site - suggest on average 1-2 times per month. Majority of which will be day trip without overnight stay.

What you'll get in return
Client is offering an interesting and challenging role in a privately owned and well-established business. They are offering an immediate start and salary commensurate with experience. Suggest 60-65k for the to 3 days, equates to 80-90k salary equivalent

Please note, the role is permanent role, on a part time basis - Three days per week or school hours over 5 days. Looking for candidates seeking part-time employment only on an ongoing basis.
