Aged Persons Mental Health Program

The Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program (APMHP) provides information, support and specialist mental health services to older people aged 65+years. The APMHP consists of three acute inpatient units (APMHU), three Aged Psychiatric Assessment & Treatment Teams (APATT), one Intensive Community Treatment (ICT) and a Behaviour and Specialist Intervention Consultation Service (BASICS)

The APMHP is committed to working with consumers during their recovery by offering holistic and evidence based treatment, which is inclusive of family/carers and provided by clinicians with well-developed skills.

Your new team

  • Supportive team culture within psychology network across APMHP

  • Opportunity to work with different multidisciplinary teams across the program

  • Input of Clinical Neuropsychologist highly valued by teams 

 Your success in this role will be your ability to

  • Triage and assess new referrals requiring clinical neuropsychology input in community and inpatient settings

  • Build rapport and engage with consumers, their families/carers and staff

  • Complete documentation and provide feedback to referring team in a timely manner

  • Work closely with clinical neuropsycology colleagues

Your Contribution

  • A clinician with at least 2 years of experience 

  • You enjoy being part of a dynamic team yet are confident to work autonomously and assume leadership.

  • You communicate clearly and effectively and are comfortable managing up and down.
