The Role

The Process Designer role involves supporting the Banking & Wealth process optimisation efforts from strategic programs of work through to task-level tactical improvements, collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to streamline Lending processes and enhance customer experience. The role also involves delivering and executing all aspects of end-to-end process design and delivery, from ideation and initial process problem solving through to procedure amendments or creation solution development, implementation, change management and benefits realisation.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Working with key stakeholders to identify process problems and deviations from endorsed process targets, applying personal SME knowledge of end-to-end processes and associated constraints/ opportunities
  • Conducting root cause analysis on process & procedure anomalies to determine underlying causes for these problems, in alignment with Suncorp’s Agile and Lean frameworks
  • Developing facts-based and data-driven options analyses (and recommendations) to support the Process Design Manager agreeing solutions and countermeasures for problems along with key decision-makers and risk advisers
  • Maintaining awareness of current industry and market trends to ensure problems are solved creatively
  • Working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to structure an efficient design and implementation approach, leveraging existing principles around virtual teams, Agile, Lean and Human-Centred Design
  • Executing design of new processes required to achieve stated objectives and benefits of the endorsed Initiative.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in process design, process improvement or operational excellence preferably within Financial Services
  • Experience in roles requiring high levels of stakeholder influence, presentation and collaboration
  • Experience in compliance-based initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience with continuous improvement, problem-solving and business design methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Customer-based Design)
  • Demonstrable experience with process modelling tools and associated methodologies (e.g. BPMN, ARIS, & BPM)
  • Experience in project management and delivery and familiarity with associated methodologies (e.g. PRINCE, Agile etc) is desirable.
