Job Description

This role is to commence early June for handover with the current Director for 8-9 months as maternity leave cover.

Working with the Client Lead you are responsible for ensuring the quality of the team’s output. The Director drives delivery of strategic and innovative offline media solutions for our clients, helping to evaluate media responses to determine the best fit for the strategy and the most effective tactics to deliver on the objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining a strong knowledge of all media vendor offerings, as well as monitoring and reporting to the broader team on prevailing market conditions and opportunities.

  • Accountable for the implementation of all trading strategies and oversees the trading product across all offline channels
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of media planning, negotiation and implementation conducted by the team members
  • Monitors, enhances & enforces processes within the team
  • Leads team WIPs and supports workflow and resource allocation within their team, manages issues effectively and reports issues or concerns to the Client Lead
  • Assists the Client Lead to identify commercial opportunities with the ability to sell in media initiatives over and above media recommendations
  • With support from Client Lead is responsible for tying all the media recommendations together as a package to present to the Client (so it’s a unified and consistent story)
  • Works with Client Lead to ensure quality control and that all targets are monitored and on track to deliver
  • Ensures client reporting is sent out in a timely matter and any issues are flagged well in advance
  • Educates the team and introduces all new media initiatives in line with agency trading product
  • Ensures clear communication across all briefs and timely relevant feedback to all partners
  • Negotiates media rates and discounts across all media partners, ensuring discounts and value levels are in line with spend commitments and we’re delivering agreed value back to clients
  • Management of timely and accurate reporting across all offline channels, including pre/final buys, mid-campaign tracking and post-campaign analysis. This includes adapting/creating new reporting templates, as required
  • Management of buys ensuring campaigns are bought and delivered according to planned goals. Responsible for timely communication if planned goals cannot be met, due to approved lead times.

Client Management

  • Critical evaluation of offline media strategy and plan to deliver on client’s objectives
  • Responsible for the offline media plan from the communications planning through to execution. Fine tuning budget allocation, weights, phasing, and title/channel/site mix with creation of the media plan
  • Drives an agenda of inter-agency collaboration to achieve clients’ results, ensuring updates and insights are shared amongst all internal stakeholders
  • Ensures work produced by team members is of high quality, delivered on time and communicated effectively, including regular reporting
  • Ensures clear communication to the Client Lead at all times, to guarantee client satisfaction and expectation management
  • Generates critical analysis of market trends, competitive activity and media consumption, as the context for media planning
  • Communicates market trends, developments or any changes that will impact trading performance
  • Provides concise, timely and accurate reporting on all campaigns, including insightful commentary and learnings for future campaigns.
