The Practice

For more than 20 years, Elgar Hill Plastic and Hand Clinic has provided specialised patient care in new, purpose-built consulting rooms in Box Hill. This practice is formed by a Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon and Melbourne Hand Therapy.

The Role

This new part time position requires an experienced receptionist to provide reception and general office support to a Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon and Hand Therapists.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient operation of reception by greeting all patients and assisting with appointments, payments and attending to all phone calls
  • Successfully operate the practice management software, Nookal and Genie (training can be provided)
  • Perform general office duties - word processing, dictaphone typing, filing, preparation of patient files and accurate entry of patient information and records
  • Preparation of medical correspondence
  • Develop strong and respectful relationships with all staff, referring surgeons and GPs
  • Preparation of treatment rooms and ensure the practice remains tidy at all times

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven ability to manage front of house reception and administration duties in a medical practice, with a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Experience as a receptionist in an allied health practice desirable
  • Proficiency in word processing and operation of practice management software (Nookal and Genie an advantage)
  • Competency in medical typing and dictaphone typing
  • Friendly and professional manner with exceptional eye for detail, communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise a diverse range of activities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to support patients, therapists and surgeons with compassion, professionalism and respect
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative
