We currently have one (1) permanent, full-time position available for immediate filling.

As Western Australia's leading hazard management agency, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services performs a critical role coordinating emergency services for a range of natural disasters and emergency incidents threatening life and property.

Our volunteers are the biggest workforce of our organisation and play an important role in keeping our community safe. DFES recognises the critical role our volunteers play and the positive impact they make to the community. Supported by this extensive network of volunteers and career workers, DFES works together with the community and government to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from a diverse range of emergencies.


DFES is establishing a multi-purpose Koolinup Emergency Services Centre Facility in Collie to improve the emergency management capability of Collie and surrounding communities, enhance community safety and boost local job creation and business opportunities.

This facility will provide emergency driving training for volunteers and DFES staff from all over the state, regional fleet maintenance and management, quality assurance and final inspection of new fleet products built in Collie as well as providing ICT and radio communication frontline service support. This facility will also establish the state's first purpose-built Incident Control Centre (ICC).

The Land and Buildings Branch is looking for a self-motivated, multi-tasker who has an important role undertaking the coordination of maintenance programs as they relate to properties in the South Division. This includes coordinating the preparation and execution of lease agreements.

The role also includes the provision of administrative services as they relate to Emergency Driving Training and other training programs coordinated through the Koolinup Emergency Services Centre Facility.

DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work business hours or outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.

This position is located at Collie, which may include regular travel and work in the Perth CBD, Cockburn Central and surrounding regions.


You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency to be considered for permanent appointments, or a working visa covering the term of a temporary contract (proof must be provided with your application) to be eligible for this position.

Applicants must hold and maintain a current driver's license throughout employment and be willing to travel to engage with metro and regional based stakeholders.


A condition of employment for new employees of DFES is that a current National Police Certificate (less than 3 months old) is provided prior to commencement.
