The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) is responsible for planning and managing land and heritage for all West Australians - now and into the future.

We lead and advise on key projects across the state. Our key focus areas are:

  • Aboriginal heritage and lands management
  • Crown land administration Historic heritage conservation services
  • Integrated land and infrastructure policy development
  • Land use planning and policy development

The Opportunity;

We are seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals, to provide high-level strategic advice and support to the Director General. The Government Relations team coordinates cross-Department and agency projects, including cross-Government engagement, Annual Report, Budget Estimates, Briefing Notes, submissions, meeting notes and agendas, while also responding to ad-hoc requests. No one day is like the other! The Coordinator will provide policy, project, tracking and operational support on matters that impact the delivery of services within the Planning, Lands, Heritage and Aboriginal Affairs portfolios, including project management, high-level business planning, Ministerial liaison and correspondence.

Our ideal candidate is someone who shows strong initiative, has a knack for problem solving and knows how to ask the right questions. You'll be able to cope with multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritise and deliver outcomes to tight deadlines. Flexibility is a must, with an ability to smile under pressure. Your ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential, as well as a keen eye for detail.

These are full time positions, however consideration may be given to applicants seeking part-time opportunities. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise across the WA public sector in the next 24 (twenty four) months from the initial date of appointment.
