The role is within the portfolio management team and will be a mix of trade support and middle office functions. The successful candidate will be the primary point of support for trading and portfolio management activities. Key responsibilities will be for investment operations including reconciliations, trade settlements, corporate actions, daily portfolio reviews and index monitoring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily reconciliation including, performance, accounting and position files, corporate actions, loans and cash
  • Utilise portfolio systems (accounting, performance and other databases) to reconcile portfolios;
  • Liaise with counterparties and custodian for settlement of trades and monitor settlement fails
  • Work with custodian to investigate and resolve exceptions/breaks in accounting and custody records
  • Monitor cash flows and transactions within funds
  • Identify and analyse corporate actions using Index files and other corporate action systems
  • Administer proxy voting
  • Processing creation and redemption checklists
  • Prepare portfolios pre-trading
  • Post trade allocation, confirmation and correction
  • Assist in business process improvement projects
  • Drafting processes and procedures

Education and/or Experience required

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
  • 4 years industry experience with a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in an investment operational role
  • Experience within broking, asset management, custodian or investment banking
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and maintain relationships with service providers
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral instructions
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Bloomberg experience considered an advantage
  • Roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic
