Job Description

Does this sound like an interesting day to you? Here's a little of what YOU as a Workplace Rehabilitation Consultant can expect to achieve and feel great about in a day.

Start the day, Grab coffee with colleagues, check emails, and prepare to head off to a worksite assessment for a new client to determine the duties of their role, and talk with the employer about what modifications or suitable duties can be identified to allow the person to stay working. Draft a return to work plan for all stakeholders to sign and schedule contact with treating practitioners for medical sign off.

Attend a medical case conference with a local GP and Physio and another client. Discuss treatment and prognosis and ascertain suitability of work duties to enable a gradual return to full duties/ hours.

Return to office, or your home office to make case notes for all activities completed so far, email/ call all parties, provide updates. Draft initial report/s and send for peer review. Check emails/ return any missed calls.

Attend team meetings/ informal internal training sessions to develop skills, understanding, efficiencies. Make phone calls to other clients to check-up/in, with email/phone updates to stakeholders (ongoing case management)

Engaging in health coaching with clients to facilitate and progress return to work activities, increase engagement in treatment (such as are you doing your prescribed exercises? Did you get up and get dressed at a good time today, were you able to do the grocery shopping/ housecleaning this morning etc.)

Our next team members will possess:

  • Allied health qualifications in either Psychology (Fully Registered, or Provisional) , Rehabilitation Counselling (must have full registration with ASORC or RCAA)
  • At least 1 year of Rehabilitation experience (preferred, but not essential)
  • A passion for improving lives through work and health
  • Enthusiasm for professional development
  • Strong desire to be part of a dynamic, social and hard-working team!
