A great opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Nurse Director of Perioperative Services to assist in managing the Perioperative Services Unit at a private hospital in Perth. This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity. THE POSITION As the Nurse Director, you will provide clinical leadership, workforce planning, operational direction and day-to-day management of the unit to ensure excellent patient outcomes. You will show an ability to drive innovation whilst recognising the patient as the key focus within the public-private partnership healthcare setting and the importance of data-driven outcomes. You will be reporting to the Director of Clinical Services. Your key management portfolio will cover:

  • Manage beds and patient flow across the Perioperative Services Unit;
  • Support the optimisation of patient length of stay;
  • Design patient services and strategies to improve patient experience in conjunction with the executive leadership team;
  • Support business growth and development within the unit;
  • Foster and maintain key VMO relationships.
  • THE CANDIDATE As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes:
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working at a middle management level (i.e. NUM level) within the healthcare industry;
  • Experience in Perioperative Services or a Procedural Unit;
  • Experience in quality management;
  • Experience & understanding of requirements of the functions of Clinical Governance in an acute care setting;
  • Effective interpersonal skills & inspirational leadership style;
  • Broad knowledge of financial management principles, including capital & operational budget management;
  • Ability to analyse a complex range of information, to think critically & provide informed, sound & appropriate decisions & advice;
  • Superior written & oral communication skills;
  • Ability to produce comprehensive reports such as system reviews & quality reports;
  • Ability to work independently & to engage & influence a team.
  • THE FACILITY Hospital, located in Southern Perth, is an acute care hospital dedicated to providing high-quality public and private healthcare. The Perioperative Services Unit encompasses Theatre, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Endoscopy, Day Surgery and CSSD.
