About the Position

The position is part of the Business Performance Branch and is a vital member of the Business Transformation team. The team performs a range of governance, analysis, business improvement, compliance, risk, project and change management activities.

The position involves the following deliverables:

  • Engage stakeholders to identify, define and plan opportunities for Business Improvement.
  • Provide training, coaching and advice in Business Improvement methodologies, frameworks and systems.
  • Support a cultural change towards a 'Continuous Improvement' philosophy by facilitating the implementation of tools such as 'Lean' management system processes and tools.
  • Facilitate business improvement services across the Directorate and at a cross Directorate level.
  • Act as a representative for Water and Waste on Corporate and Directorate projects and committees.
  • Analyse management systems & process performance, using auditing and problem-solving skills, including recognition of the potential for automation.
  • Research, develop and implement strategies and plans to continuously improve business performance through the integration of management systems and processes.
  • Lead a small team to reach desired results.

About You

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Certification in Continuous Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) or equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business improvement role.
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated with the ability to foster enthusiasm amongst fellow staff.
  • Can use analytical and critical thinking to identify scope, organise tasks into a series of actions and deliver the desired outcome to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Can lead and mentor a team to reach desired results, as well as be able to work as part of a team.
  • Can produce high-quality work under pressure and meet deadlines.
