Gathered Here is Australia’s #1 end-of-life services website: 18% of all funerals include a comparison search on our website, 3.5% of all Wills are written on our free Wills platform, and we’re working with charities to raise $550m in charitable bequests before the end of 2022.

We just closed our VC-backed seed round and are incredibly excited to be growing our core team. We're looking for thoughtful and humble team players. People who are tenacious, exceptional and ready to jump in and guide their functions towards building a global, sector-defining company.

Your work will have a genuine impact on peoples’ lives

Marketing challenges don't come any bigger than in the end-of-life services industry. We're creating an entirely different brand and voice than currently exists in the sector. We're speaking to a new type of customer and changing how the world deals with death, for the better.

As the first hire in our marketing team, you'll work cross-functionally with partnerships, product and legal and have enormous freedom to shape the vision and strategy of the function.

Let’s fast forward 12-months and look back at what you’ve accomplished

  • You took the leap and jumped headfirst into a very challenging but fascinating problem space
  • Owning the vision and strategy of the marketing team, you built out our capabilities across multiple channels, including email, SEO, PR, social, product and content
  • You coordinated with agencies/freelancers to drive our PPC and other performance marketing activities
  • You designed and executed integrated and multi-channel marketing campaigns to increase awareness, engagement, conversion and LTV
  • With full control, you developed and managed the growth budget and resources to achieve your targeted KPIs and growth metrics.
  • You supported our new product launches and scaled our existing products
  • Working closely with our partnerships team, you accelerated our go-to-market strategies by designing sales enablement materials and case studies, creating lead gen campaigns, and also consulting directly with our partner charities and other commercial partners to support the marketing of their own Wills campaigns

Now, over to you...

  • You’ve done (something like) this before. You have 5+ years' in a general marketing role with experience across a broad range of disciplines, including direct email, marketing database management, SEO, performance marketing, social, PR and content. Preferably, you have startup experience or performed in a role where you had significant autonomy and broad scope to shape and execute the marketing strategy.
  • You're data-savvy. While you're a creative thinker, you have a penchant for tools and analytics. You're an expert at delving into the data to identify new opportunities, test ideas and drive future decisions.
  • You have the best words. You're a brilliant writer. You switch effortlessly between writing website copy, compelling customer emails, SEO content, PPC ads, and crafting product messaging to a wide range of different audiences.
  • You're happy to roll up your sleeves and get to work. As an early employee, you're not afraid of wearing multiple hats and performing work at all levels to get the job done. In addition to strategising at the executive level, you're comfortable griding out blog posts, direct emails, creating social content, and jumping on the tools.
  • You’re excited to be first feet on the ground. You won’t be slotting into a highly structured marketing team and being told what to do and which lanes to stay in. As the first dedicated hire in marketing, you’ll be required to build from our foundation and guide the function. You’ll be asked to stamp your mark on our brand, marketing and product and will be the core of our growing marketing team.
