Reporting directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager, the Warehouse Team Leader -Returns is responsible overall management of the returned items into the warehouse. The role includes the performance and maintenance of the inventory of returns/stock control to produce an efficient system and receipts solutions maximizing performance against targets.

Essential Functions:

    • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Returns team and all associated processes.
    • Routinely audit the returns/restock process to ensure the quality and accuracy of the returns process.
    • Work with the Senior Warehouse Team Leader-Outbound to ensure an efficient flow of return processing.
    • Develop and maintain a process for tracking returns reasons to help provide insights to both the Merchandising team and broader business to help mitigate the volume of future returns.
    • Maintain compliance with and take accountability for the customer facing returns SLA (this includes identifying opportunities to improve the SLA and overall customer experience as it relates to the returns process).
    • Ensure the team is appropriately rostered and trained to accomplish all assigned tasks and planned workload.
    • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the returns team including the daily allocation and monitoring of tasks and duties.
    • Provide reports to Warehouse Operations Manager as and when requested.
    • Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety legislation / guidelines for self and staff at all times.
    • Carry out internal health and safety audits as and when requested.
    • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
    • Brief staff weekly on operational targets and achievements.
    • Work collaboratively with the People & Culture Coordinator and Warehouse Operations Manager to lead the development and ongoing maintenance of robust induction/onboarding plans, job aids, training programs, and SOPs for all areas of responsibility.
    • Collaborate with the Warehouse Operations Manager and external vendors on the inbound flow and sequencing of return arrivals.
    • Escalate issues to senior management within an appropriate time frame.

Education & Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. An equivalent amount of professional work experience may be substituted for a degree.
    • Three (3) to six (6) years of demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility, with at least two (2) years of experience directly managing others.
    • Four (4) to six (6) years of demonstrated experience in a variety of functions with a preference for experience in customer facing operations, distribution/fulfillment operations, or retail/ecommerce operations.
    • Prior experience in all of the following: Ecommerce Tools (i.e., Shopify), Enterprise Applications (ERP, WMS, Productivity Tools -GSuite, O365), Business Intelligence Tools, Domestic & International Freight, Tariffs, and Imports/Exports and Reverse Logistics

    • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Demonstrated problem solving ability.
    • Ability to balance operational aspects of the role while thinking independently to handle multiple projects through to completion.
    • Confident in maintaining attention to detail while managing competing priorities.
    • Ability to maintain professional customer/supplier relationships.
    • Ability to coach and motivate a team.
    • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills.
    • High degree of integrity and honesty.
