About the role

Our high-performing Strategy Delivery team is focused on implementing Officeworks’ strategy by ensuring that the right strategic programs are set-up for success and on-track to deliver outcomes. The team supports our executive leaders by prioritising opportunities, managing the portfolio of programs, and partnering across the business to plan and lead our biggest strategic and transformational opportunities.

Our Strategy Delivery Partners take a leadership role within complex, cross-functional programs to ensure these initiatives achieve the intended strategic objective. They lead strategic planning, including assessing feasibility, delivery options and the trade-offs between commercial, customer and team member outcomes. They play an essential role in the development of investment requests for executive and board approval, and they take an active role within program leadership teams to support strategic decision making.

This role is a great opportunity to transition from a strategy, consulting or transformation role to an industry role which combines strategic skills with practical problem solving, program leadership and operating knowledge. It will allow you to develop a deep understanding of how the business works, and will demonstrate how you can translate and lead strategic ambitions or ideas into action and tangible results. This high-influence role is well positioned to enable progression into operational or program leadership roles in the future. 

Key Activities Include:

  • Assessing feasibility and implementation options for strategic opportunities, including translating a strategic ambition or idea into to a comprehensive delivery plan. 
  • Collaborating with senior business leads to assess, scope, and plan new projects and initiatives through to approval, including the development and presentation of comprehensive investments cases for executive approval.
  • As a member of multiple program leadership teams, ensuring the successful delivery of outcomes through strategic decision making, options assessment and issue resolution. 
  • Supporting project teams in facilitation of post implementation reviews (PIRs), ensuring learnings are captured and leveraged for delivery of future programs.
  • Supporting the preparation of summarised progress updates, presentations and/or recommendations for Senior Leadership and Board audiences

About you

Tertiary qualified, with 5+ years of relevant industry and/or management consulting experience, with a focus in business transformation and strategic program delivery.

  • You will be comfortable in establishing and leading complex cross-functional programs and will enjoy working closely with project sponsors and business leaders to drive project outcomes. 
  • You are a structured and creative problem solver, who can see the bigger picture. You have outstanding communications, analytic, presentation, and financial skills.
  • You possess a high level of competency with MS Suite (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • You are a high performer with a strong ability to influence, a growth mindset and a passion to improve outcomes by facing into difficult decisions.
  • You embrace opportunities to get into the detail and get close to the practical aspects of strategy in stores, online and through-out the business.
