About Nutrition and Dietetic Services

Monash Health has a large team of Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants with 50 employees across the organisation in bed-based services, outpatients, residential care, aged person’s mental health, home and community based services. The person in this role will join other senior clinicians in Monash Health and provides clinical leadership to Dietitians in the Rehabilitation and Aged Care Stream, and more broadly to Monash Health Dietitians and Allied Health. We are committed to developing research capability across our workforce leading to evidence generation and translation.

About the Role

Fixed Term - Parental Leave - From 5/7/2021 to 29/7/2022: Comprising of 10 weeks Part-time at 0.6 EFT: 5/7/2021 – 12/9/2021 and thereafter full-time until 29/7/2022

  • Clinical leader to Monash Health Nutrition and Dietetics Team in bed-based service with aim of improving patient outcomes and/or facilitating discharge

  • Lead and drive our research and quality program and develop capability across Nutrition and Dietetics and translate evidence into clinical practice through close collaboration with clinical experts

  • Provide clinical supervision to Grade 1,2 or 3 Dietitians and supervise student dietitians

  • Support Manager to ensure that there is financial responsibility and accountability across the functions under the position’s control and develop and implement financial strategies that will ensure budgetary targets and key performance indicators are met.

Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition and Dietetic Rehabilitation and Aged Case, and working collaboratively with the Nutrition and Dietetics and the broader Allied Health Leadership team, the ability to drive innovation through clinical care and research is key to meeting the future needs of our patients.

You are an innovative and dynamic leader in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics. Leading capability development will be an area that will excite you. Due to your proven leadership experience, you will bring knowledge of evidence translation and innovation to ensure Monash Health continues meet needs of our community now and in the future.

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent

  • Well consolidated clinical experience in bed-based services (minimum 10 years)

  • Proven experience leading a team of allied health professionals in clinical research / quality improvement

  • Knowledge and experience working closely with an inter-professional team

  • Eligible for membership of the Dietitians Australia (DA) and the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program.

  • Holds or is progressing towards higher qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics, Research, Public Health and Management (Desirable)

  • Holder of a current Driver’s Licence.
