Our Miriam Vale track team currently has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Trackworker to join their team.

You will form part of a multi-skilled work group to deliver work across track located anywhere between Tamaree and Parana. This can include replacing timber sleepers, general labouring duties and a variety of other railway track maintenance activities.

About the role:
• Safely and efficiently carry out labouring duties, ensuring track safety is maintained.
• Carry out duties as directed by the Supervisor.
• Observe all legal and safety obligations of the organisation.
• Travel and perform outdoor work (including flood repair and other emergency work) throughout Queensland, often in challenging weather conditions and high temperatures.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the development of new work practices.

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have the following:
• Hold a current manual ‘C’ class driver’ licence.
• Previous hands-on labouring experience.
• Previous trackworker and/or thermite welding experience advantageous.
• Front-end loader, excavator, skid steer, truck licence, or other licences/ tickets are desirable.
• A strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently as part of team.
• A strong commitment to safe working practices and zero harm.
• Flexibility to work and travel across the district and work weekends when required.

What to expect:
• Strong focus on safety and teamwork.
• Training provided including Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure.
• Base salary commencing at $51,618 per annum, allowances and penalty rates (where applicable) and generous super.
• Permanent full-time role working across a 9-day fortnight, generally between the hours of 0600 to 1500.
