We are seeking a recent engineering graduate with an Electronics qualification or similar to work within our Hardware Engineering team. Due to the nature of the work and security clearance required, applicants must be Australian Citizens or Australian permanent residents to apply.

Job Summary

The Graduate Hardware Engineer works with the hardware team in the development and testing of electronics for technology products and test systems. The engineer will also liaise and support the software development team in the integration and testing of software.
The Graduate Hardware Engineer will be directly responsible for the outcomes of the tasks assigned to them in the weekly sprint meetings and are expected to proactively address any concerns or ask for assistance from senior engineers or their team lead.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform all assigned tasks in an efficient and qualitative manner.
  • Write engineering documentation, test plans and reports.
  • Design of hardware schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Perform product build activities including PCB assembly, soldering, mechanical fitment, component ordering, PCB ordering, and incoming part inspections.
  • Execute hardware verification test plans and reports.
  • Develop new and maintain existing engineering component libraries.
  • As required, help to manage electronics lab inventories and order new stock.
  • Participate in project, team and sprint meetings.
  • Work within industrial, mechanical and manufacturing suppliers in the development and manufacture of products.
  • Ensure time reporting of activities worked on is accurately completed each week.
  • Maintain a clean and effective workspace.
  • Ensure all activities follow company processes (as documented in the company QMS)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to write engineering documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in the design of digital and analogue hardware including the development and understanding of schematics and PCB layout.
  • A knowledge of embedded processors, digital buses and analogue circuitry.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers.
  • The ability to read and understand component datasheets.
  • Work effectively with team members and contribute to discussions.
  • Able to communicate professionally with team members and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
  • An engineering degree is mandatory for an engineering role within the company.
