JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Heath, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer with experience in the Civil Construction Industry. This challenging and exciting role will be responsible for assisting to maintain a high standard of health, safety, environmental and risk management processes at TRN Group.

Your responsibilities will include:
Act as company representative on all matters relating to WH&S.

Proactively assist departments in the implementation and embedding of their health and safety work plans.

Support the Systems Manager to ensure the Safety Management System delivers a consistent approach to ensure Government legislative requirements are met.

Promote WH&S within TRN Group and assist in developing safer and healthier ways of working.

Assist in the implementation of a programmed approach to regular workplace audits, workplace inspections, hazard/near miss reporting and risk assessments, ensuring that identified risk control measures are recorded and acted on in a timely manner.

Inspect workplaces and workplace practices, such as trenching, and ensure they meet safety regulations and identify hazards and risks.

Assist in the identification and facilitation of strategies and programs to mitigate claims potentials and improve the safety of staff.

Assist in collating illness/injury and incidents reports and collating related statistics to CEO and General Manager.

Assist in investigating illness/injury and incidents as noted on above report and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrences.

Assist sites with their environmental controls and assist the Systems Manager in the planning and procedure of environmental controls.

If you have previous experience in a similar role and meet the following criteria we want to hear from you.

To be successful you must have:
Experience in a HSE Officer role (5 years preferred)

Qualifications in WHS and/or Environmental (preferred)

WHS General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)

Current NSW Drivers Licence

Experience within the civil construction industry would be an advantage

Ability to coordinate and develop Health and Safety policies and procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong administrative skills

Demonstrated organisational abilities and time management skills

Ability to work autonomously and as a team

Ability to communicate with clients at all levels

A practical common-sense approach to all tasks undertaken
